It was a rubbish photo anyway you took it in the front garden
I looked like a lecturer and hid it from the children
It was your favourite but it never looked like me
Or perhaps it really did and that was what was so annoying

I admit that I have done these things and I can't undo them
And admit I know a lot less than I thought I would discover
Is there any chance of making this into something better
I don't think so, and I just don't have the patience for it

It was a snowy day I drove to work the roads were like a skid pan
took a shovel in the car and drove the back roads through the country
that's a two-hour journey and when I arrived my colleagues told me
"you're a bit late, aren't you?" (I said) "well I'm here and that's..."

I admit...

If there's a moral to this story well, I'm sure that I don't know it
Have another cup of tea and sit yourself upon the sofa
We have come so far and overcome so many situations
you've an episode or two behind you and I am no hero
